problem with putting music on my phone

i just got this new mp3 phone it came with a 32 mb card. i put in my computer and tried to put songs that i have downloaded on it. it says that this disk is write protected, i dont understand.

Any help is apreciated

G'Day,
Does the memory card have a sliding tab on it?
If it does, and it is open; then, close it and it should work.

If it is your first time touching it then it might be a case of you will need to format it in the phone before you can start using it, failing that what phone is it, and what type of card, and what are you using to read it on the PC ?
