Tried both, didn't work.

I tried burning the file as a datadisc, and sfc /scannow said it was the wrong disc, I saved it as a ISO file with Nero and burned it and it still didn't work.

Are you sure I don't need to click the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe icon and extract the files out of it and then burn it as an ISO or something with all the extracted files in it?

You mean click the file and open it up? Or? What exactly do you mean?

Sorry for the questions, I just want to clarify what you mean..

Do you mean open up the file I downloaded which will extract the files, and then install them when the installer setup message comes up?

If so, I tried that before and sfc /scannow worked, but I ended up having doubles of files I already have...... if I install them again can you tell me which files to keep and where to put them and that? Thanks!

Thanks, just before I go doing anything I'll say what I think you want me to do.

Do you want me to put the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe file onto a disc and run it and then use nlite to get the files of it or do you want me to extract the files from WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe and select certain files to put on nlite?

Sorry, I'm just really confused.

Ok I've been thinking some more.

Do you want me to put the whole i386 or whatever it's called folder onto the disk, the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe file or the sp2.cab file? I'm really confused here. Please guide me through a bit because I'm having difficultly understanding what you want me to do exactly.

Forget the 2 posts above me.

Here is my question.

The file I downloaded the other day only has a i386 folder, but that website says I need all these files on my pc before I can put them in nlite or whatever.

^^ that picture is from the unattended windows site and I only have the i386 folder.

Where do I get those other folders and files from? nlite won't work unless I have all the files ready.

Maybe if I download the servicepack from microsoft.com it'll have the missing files? I'll download it again now.

If it doesn't, where do I get them? I'm getting really frustrated now but thanks for your help.

Yeah it's the same one.

I think I might just give up, I'll just use Nero from now on. I'm thinking of buying another computer soon anyway so it doesn't really matter if I can't fix this issue.

Thanks a lot for your help and answering all my questions though, nice of you to try and help me.
