Is this the right forum for SD Card reader question?

It's a card reader to tranfer data to and from a PC to another device, in this case a digital camera, to my PC. I run Windows 2000, I bought a new camera and picked up a Lexmar USB Memory Stick reader.

However, the instructions state no driver necessary, but the "install wizard" wants to add a driver but there is not one to be found anywehre. I went to their website (Lexar) and found no driver info available for Windows 2000 driver. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Firstly, no additional driver is needed. Widows should support the card reader as a USB external drive.

I would first try to do the default automatic install allowing windows to search within itself to find a driver. You may want to put the windows 2000 cd in the drive just in case it is on the CD and not in the system. (this can happen if you windows instalation is not a full install with all the bells and whistles.)

Aside from that try mircosoft dowloads to make sure your windows version is fully up to date.

This may be the case for WinXP but drivers may be needed for Win2K.
You might want to go to the Lexar website and download the drivers for your device just to try out.

Thanks guys, I figured it out, I had to use the Camera's CD, then plug in the USB SD Card, then it found a driver and worked. For some reason, the Windows disk, and start up routine didn't work - go figure?

Thanks again :)
