mass storage device problem
hello guys, i'm currently in the following problem.
i have an 512mb mp3 player i had always hooked up to my computer, and worked perfectly. i recently formatted my pc, and from then i am unable to use it anymore: i plug the device, and the device connected sound plays, but the normal window that pops up asking you what do you want to do does not appear, and when i look up in my computer, the device does not appear, no letter even asigned. a friend lend me an ipod to check out if it was my mp3 player that was working wrong, or if it was something my pc had. i plugged the ipod, and nothing happened, even after i installed the drivers, i only get the sound, and no plug and play window so i hooked up the devices in my brothers pc, and it works perfectly. is this something which can be patched or corrected somehow, or all that's left is to format my computer? thabnk you a lots

Try setting "Portable Media Serial Number" to manual then that way it will start if needed but I don't think thats it.
If all the others are set to auto then a disabled service is not the problem or at least any that I know of. I was not sure on this but had to check, all of these sevices are ususally set to auto by default. hopefully someone else will have a idea |
