flashdrive with netsvcs.exe
im just downloaded ewido from grisoft. it was able to detect the netsvcs.exe from my flash drive. i quarentined it. i am now able to "safely remove" my flash drive (w/c i previously cant do).
now when i open My Computer, and double click on the flashdrive, a window pops up "Choose a program you want to use to open this file:". what can i do so that when i double click on it, i will be able to view the files in my flashdrive? is this related to the netsvcs.exe file that ewido removed? |

G'day sleepee,
I would say so, try reinstalling the drivers for your flash drive, but this time change the Ewido quarantine rules so the netsvcs.exe file isn't being deleted by it. Give it a try and let us know if it works.

i've solved the problem... i think. i just re-formatted my flashdrive.
chauffeur2, isn't netsvcs.exe a worm (according to ewido) anyway, i scannned my newly formatted flashdrive w/ ewido, and it detected nothing. |

Hi sleepee,
I sincerely apologise, as my 'hunting' has found that you are quite correct This link gives some good info about it... http://www.windows-process.info/n/netsvcs_exe.html I run Ewido [the full version] myself, so I checked their Virus Encyclopedia, but couldn't find any reference to it; however, AVG has it as the W32/Agobot-FP trojan virus! Having said that, I'm glad that you got it resolved!
