CD-RW Drive will not read installations software
My internal CD-RW drive on my notebook (Slimtype COMBO LSC -24082K) will read music CDs and DVDs but it will not burn CDs or read my installation CDs for any of my games or my printer. It didn't even read the Lens Cleaner CD either. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but that didn't work either. Does this sound like a problem that could be fixed while the computer is under warranty or am I just S.O.L. with this drive? Is there anything else i can do besides buying another drive?

Hi Rhonda and Welcome to TSF,
For starters, have you added software, hardware, done anything recently that may have caused this to start happening Are there yellow exclamations in device manager? do you get error messages when you try to do these things? What software are you using to burn? Are the disks even recognized when you close the tray? Have you checked your autoplay settings in my computer> rite click on the cd-rom drive>select properties Don't think you're sol. we just need some help from you to help you. bill |

No, I didn't install any new software.
No, I don't have yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager. I was using Musicmatch to burn CDs. The disks are not recognized when i close the tray. I have checked the auto play settings Rhonda |
