dead computer can I retrieve the data?

Help! My PC was hit by lightening and it is dead - is there any way to retrieve the pictures on the hard drive?

Hi,

A good bit of the time, you can move that drive to another computer as a slave drive and retreive all your data. When you get a computer up and running, give that a try and see what happens.

Thank you Tumbleweed I will try that today - it's got all my kids pictures on it and of course I didn't back it up!!Never again.
