Dual PSU, to run my second 4890
So, I am getting a second 4890 next week but currently only have a 620Watt PSU so obviously have already hit a wall.
To get the 4890 im having to break open the piggy bank, litterally XD, and as such can't afford a new PSU for some time. Now I currently have a fairly old brandless 400w PSU sat lurking around my room, and have seen a few builds of people who have used multiple PSU's to run parts of their rigs. Does anyone know of a way to have the second PSU power the 4890? Any ideas welcome, and please let me know if this is a fools road and should give up now =D |

Re: Dual PSU, to run my second 4890
I've never tried it, and I wouldn't recommend it. It's a haphazard solution, and I must question why you spent all your money on the second 4890 in the first place?
All we can recommend is to pick up a quality 850W PSU. The Corsair TX and HX series, SeaSonic S12D and M12D, and Thermaltake Toughpower series would be the best choices.

I have a bit of an issue with that too; but it's hard to have a spending problem when you're practically skint already!

Re: Dual PSU, to run my second 4890
Using two PSU's is possible but not practical and certainly not suggested. ]
Two GPU's results in minimal performance improvement at a premium price.
