Freezing Irritating PC
I bought my pc a year ago and it was working fine until the las six months.
It began freezing like when Im playing music, busy with my assignments, etc but now its freezing even when Im playing 3D games. This usually happens two times a day and I suspect my PSU. Can anyone please tell me what could be the problem before I replace my PSU My Specs are: PSU: LPG6-500w (No brand name) Mobo : Gigabyte GA-EP45T-DS3R (Intel P45/ATX 4 DDR3 dual-CH/Socket775 CPU: Intel Dual Core E8400 3.00Ghz Ram: DDR3 1333 GPU: Nvidia Geforce 9600GT 1GB GDDR3 HDD: 500GB OS: Win Xp sp3

You need a bigger and better quality power supply to run that video card and I would recommend a 650 watt in there:

The 500W PSU is a good candidate for your problem and it needs to be changed to a quality brand with sufficient power even if it isn't causing the problem.

I tried a bit of searching for that psu last night, lot of issues with it. No brand name anywhere. Most links seemed to go to either retailers or ebay-like sites in South Africa. Unstable power can easily cause freezes, as well as outright shutdowns. And then there's slowly damaging component or just frying them if (when) it fails.

We don't mean to scare you, but if a power supply doesn't put out enough to run things, that is what actually happens in many cases.
