I bought my pc a year ago and it was working fine until the las six months.

Re: Freezing Irritating PC

You need a bigger and better quality power supply to run that video card and I would recommend a 650 watt in there:

Re: Freezing Irritating PC

The 500W PSU is a good candidate for your problem and it needs to be changed to a quality brand with sufficient power even if it isn't causing the problem.

Re: Freezing Irritating PC

I tried a bit of searching for that psu last night, lot of issues with it. No brand name anywhere. Most links seemed to go to either retailers or ebay-like sites in South Africa. Unstable power can easily cause freezes, as well as outright shutdowns. And then there's slowly damaging component or just frying them if (when) it fails.

Re: Freezing Irritating PC

We don't mean to scare you, but if a power supply doesn't put out enough to run things, that is what actually happens in many cases.
