Without Warning PC crashes
Hey everyone, this is my first post here on TechSupportForums and hopefully I am posting in the right spot. Over the past couple of days, during game sessions, my PC shuts off without warning. Nothing else in my house loses power so I'm quite sure the problem is the computer itself.
My specs are as follows: ASUS M3A76-CM AMD Athlon 7850 Dual Core Processor x2 2.8 GHz PSU = ATX-C W420W 4gb Ram Nvidia Geforce 9500g Windows 7 student edition here is a newegg link to the exact pc case and all (except video card and processor) just encase you need more information http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-140-_-Product I'm not sure if this is a heat problem, although I have assumed it is, but here is a screen shot of my speedfan readings.... ![]() I have the standard fan in the back blowing hot air out, the fan on the PSU which I assume is also blowing out, the heatsink, and a fan on the side blowing air in I am a complete novice when it comes to hardware and was hoping the TSF community could help out. also there seems to be a strange noise coming from the PSU sounds like chirping (you know like a bird lol) If I need to buy something just let me have newegg links that you know for sure would fit into my machine. If you need anymore information regarding use or specs just let me know. Will check back shortly, bwh3 |

Re: Without Warning PC crashes
Looks like the PSU is a bit low for that set-up, what manufacturer is it?
Also try a memtest... http://www.memtest.org/#downiso Download and burn onto a CD>>> boot from CD>>> test your modules one by one. (I'm not a administrator, but still trying to help :)) GL |

Re: Without Warning PC crashes
Not sure of the maker of the psu, not ta home right now but could that be the problem
? I have had the pc for about 3 months and this has just started this week. I probably should have mentioned this earlier but it has crashed twice and does not restart itself I have to manually turn it back on. |

Re: Without Warning PC crashes
Well the link you sent me to was unavailable at this time to purchase (must be on backorder?) so I went ahead and bought this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...tent-_-text-_-
