RAM usage question

System
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Model
HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC
Total amount of system memory
4.00 GB RAM
Operating System
Windows 7 (32-bit)
Number of processor cores
2
64-bit capable
Yes
Graphics
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Display adapter type
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
Total available graphics memory 1535 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 256 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 1279 MB

So anyway... my question:

I have 4GB of RAM, but the 32-bit version of Windows can only use 3GB. I know the 64-bit version can utilize more, but it's not compatible with some of my games.

So the way I see it, I have 1GB of RAM that's going to waste... (Yes?) Is there a way I could allow my graphics card to use this "extra" RAM?

Re: RAM usage question

To the best of my knowledge, no. Video Card RAM is in of itself. Mutualy exclusive if you will. I do not know of anyway to share the two. Though, I could be wrong...

Also, What games would not be compatible? Odd...

Re: RAM usage question

well it turns out that the games i couldn't get to work do work, i just needed to fix something.

Can I do anything with that 1GB of RAM if i'm not running 64-bit?

Also, and I think I know the answer to this, but will games run better on a 64-bit operating system?

Re: RAM usage question

The 1GB is not going to waste. The 32Bit system just doesn't "see" it.
The games might possibly run better on a 64Nit OS if they are compatible.
