I bought a new PC about 2 months ago.

It came with 1GB DDR800 RAM, 250GB HDD and a DUO CORE 2.4 MHz CPU.

I added 1GB RAM and an 80GB HDD that I took from my previous old PC and also installed my FireWire card that I use for video editing. The FireWire card was also in my previous old PC.

My previous PCs PSU broke 3 times. I can't remember what went wrong with the PSU the 1st time, but the 2nd and 3rd time the PSU gave no power what so ever. I thought that maybe my motherboard is somehow causing my PSU to break, so I bought the new PC. This was less than 2 months ago. The 2 days ago (Sunday evening) I worked on the PC and shut it down afterwards. Last night, however, I turned the PC on. To my frustration, the fans come on, but it does not boot. I know it is the PSU, as my brother-in-law had the same problem on his PC before.

Is it possible that the RAM, HDD or FireWire card caused this? The only common component in all 4 instances is the HDD and the FireWire. The RAM was present only in 3 instances.

It should be noted that the previous old PCs PSU broke twice in our previous apartment and a third time in our new apartment. Our new PC broke in our new flat.

I'll appreciate any help.

Oh, hello by the way. My name is Willem Voigt from South Africa.

I should add, that after my previous old PC broke, my PCI Express graphics card also stopped displaying the colour "blue". This was not yet installed in my new PC when it broke.
