power button not working
I have a dell dimension 8300 that wont start by pressing the power button. Plugging and unplugging the cord does nothing.
I can get it to turn on by removing and then putting the battery back in, but once I shut the computer down I have to open it up every time to mess with the battery. I read on another forum that going into the bios and changing the ac power restore state to ON might let me start it up by just turning on the power strip every time but I haven't tried this yet and don't want to shut the computer off until I'm sure. Does anyone have any ideas I should try? Thanks. |
