Dell Dimension 9100 - power switch?
I'm having this EXACT same problem with my Dimension 9100. How do you set PS_On to GND? Is this a multimeter thing? (don't have one of those). Please help me fix my PC!

Set?
You can test it with a digital voltmeter or jump the green and a black wire in the 25 pin main connector momentarlly to see if it starts |

Re: Dell Dimension 9100 - power switch?
I put a paper clip in the green and black wires and my power supply turned on, so I believe it is working.
All I want to know is how the other guy who had my problem fixed it. He said he got PS_On to be GND and his PC worked fine ever since. I don't have any kind of multimeter or voltmeter or anything, nor can I afford 'em (17 with no job and just spent all my money). |

Re: Dell Dimension 9100 - power switch?
The Ps_On is a trigger wire if kept grounded it won't start you ground it momentarily to signal the PSU to start or to shut off. The power switch is part of the front I/O panel
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280369011779 Check you connections on both sides of the cable Motherboard and I/O panel to make sure they are tight. |

Re: Dell Dimension 9100 - power switch?
I'm aware of this.
I don't know why you branched me off from the original topic. I had 100% the exact same problem and everything. All you did was make me my own topic. If you look at the first post, it won't tell anyone anything. You're not too bright, are you? Just tell me how the hell you fixed the other guy's problem. Good chance that will fix my problem too. |
