OS: vista sp1

Vista= 4gb but taskmanager= 2gb ???

Hey all,
Ive have got vista sp1 and I have 4 gb of working dual channel memory (Ocz sli). In the bios it says 4gb in the windows system properties it says 4gb. but in the taskmanager it says the following:

Physical Memory (MB)
Total 2557
Cached 1789 (changes)
Free 15

Kernal Memory (MB)
Total 176
Paged 112
Nonpaged 63

Am i just dumb and it is actually 4 gbs in use (even though it feels king of slow) or is there a problem... also:
when installing assassins creed it gave me my pc stats and said 2 gb.

thanx in advance
:edit Canyourunit just told me i have 2.5gb
