I've got 4 pc's at home, I've decided to take full notice that ram branding isn't
everything anymore, I also want to flush out present/future issue possibilities by getting this done so if someone could help it'd be appreciated =) I'd like to know what ram (as precisely as possible) is most compatible with each pc (thanks in advance). Btw.. I grabbed the data below from cpuid's wizard program. If I'm missing something let me know, (as far as I can think you might only need the motherboard models). oh and I'm aiming to max out the ram on xp pro 32bit on each pc. On another note.. I'm aware theres memory config programs to just do this on my own but from the looks of it theres too many companies to sort out and someone here might already know which one would be better for each pc. (I wrote this over time ^ as I was grabbing the models off the pc's) PS: This all started when I couldn't figure out if the PCxxxx on ram mattered or not or how it applied to buying/installing ram, as far as I know atm the only thing that matters is the mhz I think? ex: 667, 533, etc along with ddr1,2,3 so if someone could address that issue that'd be highly appreciated. ---------- PC #1 (Laptop) Manufacturer : ASUSTeK Computer INC. (Asus) Product : C90S ---------------------------- PC #2 (Laptop) Manufacturer : Gateway Product : Unspecified Version : 77.09 Model: MA7 / MT6705 ------------------- PC #3 (Desktop) Manufacturer : ECS Product : GF7050VT-M (Motherboard Model) ------------------- PC #4 (Desktop) Manufacturer : Acer Product : WMCP78M (Motherboard Model) Notes: nVidia nForce 720a -------------------- Last edited by Corzama; 10-25-2009 at 08:23 PM. |

Re: Ram Compatibilities?
I'm not positive that I understand what you are asking but I "think" you want to max out the RAM in each PC in the listr.
If that is correct, go to Crucial and use them memory configuration utility. http://www.crucial.com/

Re: Ram Compatibilities?
Yes but also its not just about putting "any" ram into each pc, apparently brand names
aren't "everything" to just install an go. Compatibility is apparently the idea nowadays. Each pc is prolly more compatible with a different ram company, I'd like to know which one for each an the ram models (or urls to them?) if that makes more sense. For example I know someone told me transcend was ideal for my c90s due to overclocking issues (overclock mode fails on c90s) but I'm not sure which model. |

Re: Ram Compatibilities?
Use the configuration utility from the memory manufactures site to find compatible ram for each one, for OEM machines and laptops Crucial is usually the best and easiest to find.
For High performance like overclocking and gaming on custom built PC's Corsair or OCZ. Corsair , Crucial , OCZ |

Re: Ram Compatibilities?
The manual has a rather slim QVL on page 13.

Re: Ram Compatibilities?
Actually that board will only run a Max Speed of DDR2 667, there is DDR2 800 on the list but the board will run it at 667 speeds (333.5 x 2).
