Post Compaq Presario V6000 series start up trouble

Hi,

I am using HP V6000 Presario with part number RZ897PA.

I am facing a problem in my startup.

When the A/C adapter is plugged in, the ring around the plug jack is lit and the icon for charging the battery is lit also. When I press the power button to start up the laptop, the rest of the icons light up in blue and the fan comes on.

After about 20 seconds, the laptop gets off itself automatically.

If i just give a gentle touch on the touchpad buttons (Volume control, mute etc) then lights comes in rest of the icons in blue (power comes for few seconds and goes off).

During the 20 seconds of this start up, the display/screen is dead. I only hear the fan, no other sounds.

Any suggestion by you on this problem will be highly appreciated.

remove the battery and try it with just the outlet power.

Re: Compaq Presario V6000 series start up trouble

I have exactly the same problem with a Compaq Branded Presario V6000 HP Serial No CNF63615XK. SO would also appreciate help / solution.

Thank You.
