help choosing RAM for upgrade

i want to upgrade my computer over time. next im going to get new cooling for OCing.

i currently have 'OCZ Platinum Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel' and am thinking of buying this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-192-CS will this be ok or will there be issues with them together?

also would i need a better PSU or is my Corsair 620W HX Modular PSU - ATX12V v2.2 APFC good enough?

here are my current specs:
CPU: Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz | GPU: Radeon HD 4870 | Mobo: Asus P5Q P45 | RAM: OCZ 4GB 1066GHz | HDD: 2x 1TB Samsung

Re: help choosing RAM for upgrade

4GB of RAM is more than sufficient. Mixing RAM is NOT a good idea and cause cause problems.

Re: help choosing RAM for upgrade

You can only use more than 4GB if you have 64-bit Vista (which you may or may not have, I couldn't tell from post). Even then, 4GB is still plenty.
For games, upgrading the GPU will yield the most dramatic performance increase.
Photoshop and other render-type programs are more CPU intensive.

Re: help choosing RAM for upgrade

You not see any benefit with more than 4GB of RAM with a 64Bit OS.
As Mikhalkov posted, more GPU for games & more CPU for tasking.
