3.99GB usable (6GB installed)?

My new computer has 2gb*3 ddr3 1333 on my x58 board. When I install 32-bit Windows, it says that I only have 2.99 GB of memory. When I use the 64-bit version(Windows 7 7600 64-bit), it says that 3.99GB is usable, while 6GB is installed.
On the POST screen, I noticed that "6144MB OK" is diaplayed. In BIOS, it also says I have 6144MB of memory. I checked in CPU-Z and, as a result, it said that all three slots are OK, and all the data is dispalyed correctly. I've reinstalled the OS, but nothing changed. What should I do?

2.99GB would be correct for a 32Bit OS. Is the PC prebuilt or custom?

but only shows 4GB for 64bit OS, so that is not the issue. THis sounds like a tri-channel issue - thus a bios upgrade may fix it.

Correct. My post was only to assure you that 2.99 was correct for the 32Bit OS.
DDR3 has it's own set of issues so hopefully the Bios update will resolve the 64Bit issue.
