prob wid my comp tht i really don understand

hi, i have this weird problem wid my computer. When i start my computer it turns on and simply hangs. No matter how many times i restart it, it turns on and simply hangs.. Initially,on a frens suggestion i removed the Ram from its slot and replaced it again after suitably "dusting" it, and turned on the sys......it started normally and worked fine for tht day and the next day it wouldnt start again. I had to do the same (removing the RAM etc etc) and it started normally. These days it has become sumthing like a ritual tht i start the sys, it hangs , remove the ram from its slot, replace n then start the sys. Can some1 pls tell me wt exactly the problem can be?....is there a less tedious solution to this?.....pls help!!

Not necessarily, Randy.

Try clearing the CMOS; locate the CMOS jumper next to the motherboard battery, move it from pins 1+2 to 2+3, remove the motherboard battery, and wait a minute. Then put the battery back in and move the jumper back to the original pins. This may not fix it, but it's worth a shot and it only takes about two minutes to do anyway.

What are your specs?
Motherboard
CPU
RAM
Graphics card
Power supply
