Ringing as in a beeping sound?
It may a CPU over heat alarm.
Check the Temps and Voltages in the Bios.

Do not buy new one. Instead, see if you can borrow from a friend more powerful PSU and check your rig...
Good and quality 550W for checking would be nice...

Keep us posted...

No, I can't be sure yet if it is PSU or not...
Can you get display at all???
You did not check temperatures and voltages in BIOS as mentioned earlier...

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

Use GPUz to check the temp on the Video card> http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...-Z_v0.2.8.html

Check the CPU and Chipset temps in the Bios on the PC health page.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

The cpu temp is a little warm for a bios reading. Try cleaning the heat sink and fan with a can of compressed air and recheck.
I;m sure there must be a sensor reading program for linux but not sure what it would be.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

for curiosity i just want to know the range temp of CPU for which the bios reading is available.

whay my CPU temp is high?is it really serious thing to concern?

basically i have serviced my mach just 3 wiks back.and the mobo & graphix crd r just 3 wiks old.actually i had mobo 946 gzis intel which i replaced with p5q pro just a 3wiks back.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

For C2D CPUs 49C in idle is not available...
It should be round 30-35C...
Did you clean heat-sink on CPU???

on my oel linux i got a sensor over here and got a output like:

[root@localhost ~]# /usr/bin/sensors
Can't access procfs/sysfs file
Unable to find i2c bus information;
For 2.6 kernels, make sure you have mounted sysfs and libsensors
was compiled with sysfs support!
For older kernels, make sure you have done 'modprobe i2c-proc'!

In the bios CPU temp is starting from 42 and ending at 50 C now?should i need to change the fan speed?

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

That's too warm I would check that all 4 legs of heat sink are fully seated in the motherboard. If they look ok since it's a new build redo the thermal paste> http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...structions.htm

Open one side of the case and check if heat-sink is dusted...
If it is, blow the dust with compressed air...
