Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

If it continues to run hot yes.
If you had someone change the motherboard for you take it back and have them check/redo the heat sink.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

i made CPU Q-FAN Control enabled in bios
and made cpu fan profile turbo

now the temperature is around 47

do i need to change my smps.may be it is flowing low volt to some component and making the CPU hot?

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

11.86v is just a tad lower then I would like to see it but well with in spec, the ringing is from an overheat alarm if you can borrow another PSU to test with do so but I don't believe it will be the cause of the problem. But of course I have been wrong before.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

AS5 is a thermal compound that fills in microscopic voids between the CPU and heat sinkm the stock heat sink comes with a thermal pad but once it is removed from the CPU it needs to cleaned off with alcohol (the highest percentage you can find 90%) and a thermal compound applied, AS5 in common and good but there a lot of different brands.
As an example > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...40%20-%20%2410

What is the Amp rating for the 12v rail on the PSU?

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

Disconnect the hard drive and see if it will boot into the bios setup screens.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

Disconnect all the drives and see if you can get into the Bios, look on the PC health page for the 12v, 5v, and 3.3v readings, also the CPU and system temps.

If you can't get into the Bios check the voltages using a digital voltmeter> Test your power supply with a multi meter

the temp and volts are measured within the 5 mins. after my booting:
CPU temp ->45 C
MB temp ->36 C
CPU volt ->1.272 V
3.3 V ->3.280 V
5 V ->5.064 V

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

If that 11.86v reading is without any drives hooked up it may indeed be a Power Supply issue, any chance of borrowing one to test with?

yes all drives are removed then i took that bios reading.problem is that i don't have such good friends who will give a power supply to me for a day.anyway i can buy one.

can you suggest on which PSU i can bet on??
one 850w cooler master (real) SMPS will be sufficient??

i don't overclock too much but i want a cpu cooler too.presently i have the normal cpu coller which comes with the processor.
should i go for zalman 9900/9700 or thermalright v8?or can i go for a bit lower cost cpu cooler?

another thing i want to know,r u sure there is no processor issue?

regards

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

For the HD 4350 a 550w unit will do Corsair, Seasonic, In the Cooler Master line up the Real Power Pro model only http://in.coolermaster.com/products/...e=2259&id=4132

For stock speeds the stock heat sink should do fine, the thermaltake V8 is a nice cooler for overclocking.
The sunbeam cooler is cheaper and does a nice job also.

Re: p5q pro and ati radion and power supply

A power supply can be as high as you want it will not do any damage as power supplies onlu use what is needed.

An underpowered power supply will cause damage

A crap brand power supply will eventually cause damage

W TX-2 is the thermal compound that comes with but your best of using artic silver 5 as it's the best.
