Re: Ram upgrade question
is thinks it comes with 32bit vista but if you upgrade to 64bit software vista you dont need to upgrade any hardware in your PC to do that but its gonna cost you about 300-200$ to upgrade to 64bit software. to find out if you already have 64bit software then click the start orb thingy and right click on computer and select properties and under the system area it will tell you if you have 64bit vista. if you have 64 bit you might be able to have 8GB of RAM or more

Re: Ram upgrade question
Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit can be had for $170 but that won't help the OP's situation.
4GB of RAM is the maximum that mort501's Mobo will accept.

Re: Ram upgrade question
You can always check how much RAM the laptop can support by using various online scanners. Using a scanner such as Crucial should provide you with a readout on how much RAM your computer can take.

Re: Ram upgrade question
hes right the cnet doesn't lie. i always thought tho if u have 64bit then you can go past 4gb that's different most machines go past 4gb of RAM on 64bit processor and software but that particular might not. well theirs a couple different websites that say it comes with 32bit windows software and 64bit processor so i really think that if you upgrade to 64bit software than you can go past 4gb but that review might be right. ill research more on that one. but Tyree ur probably right

Re: Ram upgrade question
No you can't the motherboard will only support 4Gig total, It has nothing to do with the CPU or OS in this case,
Anything over 4 Gig on a nonserver is a waste of money Windows will not need it no matter the version. |
