Hi all,
I'm moving from the UK to the States & wondering about power differences between the two places. Here is the plan: Ship my existing components (hard drive, graphics card, motherboard, CPU,ram & usb card) and buy a PSU & case when i get there. Will the new PSU safely & adequately run my existing components ? ..... or should i also ship my existing PSU & just buy a power adapter ? (will i even need to do that ?) Thanks in advance FB |

Re: PSU: Moving From UK To USA ?
A power supply that has active PFC (most decent ones do) will automatically compensate for the voltage difference. PSUs with passive or no PFC will usually have a voltage selector switch, to switch the input voltage from 120v to 240v, or vice versa.
A typical voltage selector switch looks like this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA.../c00517964.jpg
