Memtest Fails in 1, passes in another
How do I diagnose the problem if the system fails Memtest86+ v2.11 for 2 sets of RAM that both pass in a separate system? Is there software that will check the GPU, etc? Or should I try switching out the GPU and rerun Memtest? The system boots, but is unstable (random problems, such as I had several unsuccessful W7 installs before it finally completed without any errors; installing software is also problematic in some instances (such as patching PowerDVD8), etc. A couple of BSODs also.
The system that fails is: CPU: Intel C2D E6550 2.33GHz MB: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R GPU: ATI Radeon 4850 PSU: Corsair HX520W HDD: Sata Maxtor DiamondMax 21 320GB DVD-ROM: IDE Running W7 x64 The RAM that failed in one, but succeeded multiple passes in another: OCZ PC2 8500 4GB (2x2) G.Skill F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK (2x2) Thanks! |

Re: Memtest Fails in 1, passes in another
Test it one stick at a time in the system that has the issue.
Are you running both brands at the same time? Is the voltage set to the sticks recommended voltage? |
