RAM running on single channel

My config is as below

Core 2 Quad Q6600
2X1Gb DDR2 400Mhz RAM, Corsair
250 G HDD
XFX Geforce 8600 512 MB
Windows vista business
ASUS P5N32E-SLI motherboard
300W powersupply

Ok i have recently noticed that my RAM is running at single channel (i checked that in CPUZ)......I have put the ram in the correct ram slots (1-3 or 2-4) they are colour coded........I have also put them in 1-2 and 3-4 slots just to check them out........My motherboard does support dualchannel ram (as far as i know)..........i have even disabled quick boot and restarted the computer once..........I have run out of things to test.....any one has ne idea about what could be wrong?

Re: RAM running on single channel

I copied this directly from the manufacturer's web page so 800 fsb should be supported:

Dual-channel DDR2 800/667/533

Re: RAM running on single channel

No, you are correct and I deleted my post which was not clear so you would not misunderstand.

When you purchased your ram, did you buy a matched pair?

Re: RAM running on single channel

Some motherboards are more forgiving then others, Nvidia chip sets are very picky about ram, I would change the ram to a matched pair recommended to work in your motherboard by the ram manufacturers configuration utility.
