[SOLVED] Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

Hello my name is lazybone and I current have a Dell 9200 Dimension. I recently installed my Corsair 750TX and eVga gtx 260 into my desktop. The installation was a success but when I tried to turn my computer on my power button light start blinking and I can't start it. I put my wires in the correct place. I even reinstall my old power supply back to my computer and it could still start. But when I tried to install my corsair back it kind of start the blinking thing. Please help!!

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

You have a bad PSU, the Dell uses a proprietary PSU or it's not connected properly.
Easiest solution would be to try the 750TX in another PC? If you don't have one, take it to a local PC shop for testing.

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

your dell most likely needs a proprietary wired power supply

PC power & cooling does a nice job of supplying these with guts to run the 260 GTX..........I would email them and try to return the 750-tx or sell it on ebay

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

The 9200 is a standard ATX supply, Test the supply in another PC or return it as defective it's rare with corsair but it happens.

IF you have a digital volt meter you can test it > Test your power supply with a multi meter

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

Alright I took some pictures on what I did and what cords I used. There are only 4 areas that I put the wires.*I didn't put the 260 in yet*
Picture on the whole computer:

Some Motherboard Plug:

Motherboard 24 Pin:

That's what I did. My Corsair 750TX doesn't seem to have any like DOA thingys. Like nothing seem broken.

"The 2x2 is connected to the motherboard. My old PSU uses PC2 to connect that. But Corsair 750tx doesn't have that so I used the PCI-E 6 pin one"

This is the problem.

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

I can find no information on a "PC2" connector. That looks to me like a "P4" or "ATX12V" connector, also known as the 4-pin motherboard connector. The 750tx does have one. It will actually have 8 pins, but it breaks apart into two 4-pin segments.

I don't think ATX12V and PCIe 6-pin are electrically compatible... Best case you were just shorting to ground. Worst case you've wrecked the motherboard. Only one way to find out.

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

the corsair has an 8 pin cpu power plug, use that and let four pins just ride past / hang over your 4 pin (2 x 2) socket

do you understand what I am advising you to do ?

Re: Installing 750TX caused a problem. Please help!

Here is the 8 pin and 4 pin side by side just plug in half of the 8 pin leaving the other 4 pins hang outside the motherboard connector.
