I have a Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 MoBo and i currently have 2 GB (2 x 1GB) of DDR2 PC6400 800 MHz Corsair RAM.
I am definatly looking to upgrade it... and i'm looking for suggestions. Here's a link to my Motherboards Specs... http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=2302&ProductName=GA-M59SLI-S5 I need to know if I should go DDR2 or DDR3 and what the PC#### means. I also want to know if there is any limitation of the MHz I can install. (e.g. 4 800 MHz or what) Thanks aplenty |

Re: RAM MHz matter?
PC2xxxx is just the RAM speed specification, you don't really need to know it means. PC2 6400 is 800MHz DDR2 RAM, PC2 8500 is 1066MHz, PC2 5300 is 667MHz, etc.
Generally speaking, most RAM rated higher than 800MHz will only run at 800MHz stock; you have to overclock to get to the rated speed. 800MHz should do just fine for you.
