AMD athlon 64*2 Dual,core processor 5000+, 2.6 Hz, 3 Gb (DDR 2) ram ( 1 + 2 Gb ram), Xp SP2, hard disk: 160 Gb at first n now 500 Gb
Months ago while using my PC at a friend’s party my computer got frozen abruptly... I was using itune and virtual dj..when i restarted my pc it showed a stuff like (Ndll file mising)…i formated my pc and reinstall windows xp sp2 hoping that all these problems were going to be ok.. installed windows vista on it after a while but then I got the same problem..I changed it again for XP sp2…but the problem was still here..when i started using some large program like itune and even autocad.my computer get frozen and a sound could b heard..before i was capable of running many more other large programs at a time without any problem..Sometimes when puttin dvd in romthe computer get frozen and by time it works normally..when using nero it get most of the time frozen i thought that the problem could b my hard disk and i changed it for a 500 Gb..but problem is still present..more since i installed the hard disk my computer is warming up and my power supply is getting really hot... I'm confused..for sure its not the hard disk!!!can it b the ram or a more complex problem? thanking you in advance |

Re: freezing...
It is recommended that you only post *one* topic on a particular problem, rather than several sprinkled throughout the forum. As techs we generally browse through every section of the hardware forum, and it's likely that one of us will see your thread, so if it's a problem with multiple potential causes you only need to post it in one forum.
First, what are your full system specs? Motherboard CPU RAM Power supply (brand, model, wattage) Graphics card Hard drives (brand and model, not just size) Try running Memtest86+ to see if there are any problems with your RAM, remember it needs to run for a couple hours at least.
