Power Supply help

I bought a gateway SX2800 computer and want to upgrade the graphics card but need a new power supply. The computer is a small form factor. This is what the inside of it looks like.

Please help me out.

Re: Power Supply help

I don't know of any quality PSU maker that offers a PSU, in that form factor, that would power much of a graphics card.

Re: Power Supply help

Re: Power Supply help

9600GT Power Requirements:
Minimum of a 300 Watt power supply
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amps.)
I don't recommend the PSU out of case suggestion but it is possible.
You just set the PSU outside the case and connect all the wiring.

Re: Power Supply help

Okay but it doesn't actually require a 300 watt. It consumes 59watts at max load. If I can find out how much my system uses max load I can put it in.

And is that a good gpu capable of any newer games?

I put in a sapphire HD 4550. it runs fine, it's just way too hot. 60 degrees idle and up to 105 load :(
