Computer Not Booting Properly
Hello All, Earlier on today my computer froze up so I decided to reboot, when I tried to reboot my computer would light up (fans would spin inside, lights on the case would light up) but my monitor (no signal being broadcasted), mouse and keyboard are not working (my keyboard isn't a USB one)
After a little time searching I came across a few suggestions, after a little more further reading I gauged that something is wrong with either; My PSU, Mobo, Processor or Memory. I made sure the inside of my computer was dust free and removed my RAM sticks and rubbed a rubber on the golden part of the sticks at the bottom (this was suggested in numerous posts). Unfortunately my computer still wasn't able to boot properly. Now im very dubious to send my pc in to a repair guy because I already know that something is wrong with one of the above, I'm guessing either my PSU or Processor have died. However the fan inside my PSU is still spinning and the fans that are plugged into my PSU are also spinning when I boot. Now I'm not taking this as gospel that my PSU is definitely working so I would like to know if there is any way to test if either of my components are working? and also maybe suggestions as to other causes to my problem?. I was reading about a way to remotely boot my PSU using a paper clip but I really don't fancy risking a 500w electric shock I will provide specs of my PC if somebody thinks that this is necasarry. Thanks a bunch

Re: Computer Not Booting Properly
Try booting with one RAM stick. Then try the other stick.
I'm not familiar with that brand of PSU but it looks like a low quality unit.

Re: Computer Not Booting Properly
I tried booting with one stick, then the other and also with no sticks to no avail so I guess that narrows it down to either my PSU or Mobo?. Yeah the PSU was rather cheap, I've had it since January so thats a fair few months.

Re: Computer Not Booting Properly
Update - So I bought a new PSU, unfortunately it won't plug into my Hard Drive so I just need to buy a Molex to SATA adapter, however I tried booting without the HD and the problem is still persisting. Is this because I can't boot as I don't have a hard drive plugged in or does this finally give me the answer that my motherboard is fried?
