Confused Please help me!

i have 2 separate questions, however different topics, but the main question is about a power supply so i decided to post here.

Main question
Can Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply, support the ATi Radeon XFX HD 4850 graphics card? Also if not, can someone give me a link to a good power supply but is in the range of $30-$40, and is able to support the graphics card.

2nd Question
Can the ATi Radeon XFX HD 4850, fit into a Dell 531s? (its a slim tower)

Thank You in advance!

Re: Please help me!

The 4850 requires a minimum 450W PSU.
There are no quality PSU's the that price range that will supply sufficient power for thet graphics card.
This Seasonic 650W would work. $85

XFX are not that great and their support is terrible. Look at Sapphire, PowerColor, Asus or Gigabyte for ATI cards.

I really don't know if the 4850 would fit into a slim tower case.

Just because the system powers up does not mean that the psu is providing adequate power. That thermaltake is low quality and insufficient for the card you are looking at as Tyree stated. You will be setting yourself up for a myriad of problems (BSOD's, overheating, crashes). Get a quality unit!

Measure the space available in your case from back slot to see how much room you are working with. The xfx is LONG, about 12.5 inches. Leaving the case open makes no difference.

Re: Please help me!

What PSU did the "person" give you (Brand and Model)?
Of the cards you linked to, I would go with any on that page except the XFX and the Open Box Asus.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121253

Re: Please help me!

Well, as you seem dead set on buying a power supply in the 30 - 40 dollar range, I have no more advice to give. You WILL experience future problems and WILL be right back here asking for help. At that time, again we will tell you that the psu is garbage. Look forward to hearing from you!

Re: Please help me!

If you have 8.5" None of them will fit the Asus is 9" long the HIS is over 9.5" long(24.6CM)
http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?mo...=8&l3=725&l4=0
http://www.hisdigital.com/un/product2-28.shtml

For power on any Performance Video card you need to be at 550w or above in a quality unit all you'll accomplish with a cheap low quality unit is to fry something important.

For a overclocked HD4850 I would use a 650w to keep temps down they run very warm you don't need a PSU running at or over 100% capacity adding to the temps in the case.
