MY computer starts but monitor shows nothing
I had a Windows XP and well that's about all that i know about it. Anyway a month or so before it died the fan was makeing weird sounds and then i turned the computer on and the power came on and all the lights did but i heard no beep to show it started and the Monitor shows nothing. I tryed a new monitor and nothing. I may of tried a new grafix card but i forget tbh. This computer worked great and it is doing alot better than this vista i'm on right now. I would love to have that computer so i'm wondering if anybody knows what's wrong because i don't have that $ for a new one atm.

Re: MY computer starts but monitor shows nothing
First when the computer starts up do you see a black dos screen with the hardware information (hard drive, CD rom etc? with instructions to hit a certain key for Setup)? If you do, then you may need to just change video cards, or if you have onboard video, remove the video card and use the onboard. If you get no joy when you boot up, chances are great the fan was clogged up with dust or stopped spinning and the motherboard burnt up.

Re: MY computer starts but monitor shows nothing
Well the computer died and then we did get it to work 1 time after that but then we restarted it and it never came back on. Tommrow i will take the computer apart and look at what is all there and check the fan ect. When the computer starts the monitor is just plain black. It shows nothing and does nothing.
