[SOLVED] What PSU will I need?
Hi there,
I'm thinking about buying this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164667 And then getting a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT to put in it: http://www.nvidia.com/object/buy_now...ml?id=GF9600GT Ebuyer doesn't specify the PSU of that computer - would I have to buy a better one to make the graphics card work? I'm assuming if the PSU is not specified it's something like 300W. Thanks, Ewan Last edited by Ewok94; 06-01-2009 at 07:19 AM. |

Re: What PSU will I need?
Whatever the PSU is you it's probably not a quality unit.
The 9600GT calls for a minimum 425W PSU. This would cover your needs. FSP Group FX600 $94.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104014 Or the Corsair 650TX $94.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

Re: What PSU will I need?
The Corsair PSU is about three times better than the FSP brand for the same price, so I recommend that you select the Corsair.

Re: What PSU will I need?
Thanks, the Corsair is within my budget and looks excellent.
How likely is it that it won't fit inside the base unit I'm buying? I'm more of a software/programming person so not used to physically putting the things together :) |

Re: What PSU will I need?
I could not find specs, but if it is a full ATX case, should fit fine.

Re: What PSU will I need?
I have another similar question :)
I've been looking at different builds and stuff and I'm just wondering about the 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE 9500GT PCI EXPRESS. Will a 600W (600W Quiet Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan (£58)) power supply be sufficient if I get this graphics card? |
