[SOLVED] PC 8500 Recognized as 800MHZ

Hi All,

I was reading a previous post where someone had the same problem with the same exact G.Skill memory. Before you folks had a chance to go through their setting with them the user resolved the issue, but didn't say what the voltage setting were changed to. Here's the specs on the build:

DFI LP JR P45 T2RS
775 Q8300 Quad Core
4 GB G.SKILL F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK (2X2 Kit)
Antec 750W PS
2X 250 GB Seagate SATA Raid 1
Samsung DVD RW IDE
HIS ATI Radeon HD 4350

I could have sworn that when I checked G.Skill's memory configurator that this memory was on the QVL for this board. I went back and dug a little deeper on their site and I may have been wrong. Is there a way to OC this RAM to get it to run stable at 1066MHZ?

Help...I need to ship this to my nephew for his birthday very soon...

Thanks

Re: PC 8500 Recognized as 800MHZ

Set the voltage to what the sticks are rated for 2.0 or 2.1v and bump the speed up in the bios not sure if that boards bios shows the double pumped speed of 1066 or the actual bus speed of 533, what does it show now?

Re: PC 8500 Recognized as 800MHZ

Thank you. Now the memory is showing 1066. When I bumped up the voltage to 1.95 I didn't realize that I could scroll for more settings. Now that is corrected finally. Now when I rebot I get a "WARNING! Overclock has fail or CPU has changed Press Delete to enter setup screen". What do I need to do to correct this warning?

Thanks again.

Just the first reboot or all the time?

Re: PC 8500 Recognized as 800MHZ

I forgot to respond to your question regarding the double pump. The DRAM shows 266/1066. What I am wondering now is the CPU show 333, Should that read 533 for the Q8300 Quad 2.5GHZ

Re: PC 8500 Recognized as 800MHZ

Hey Wrence, your the best. Thanks for your help. The warning only appeared at the first reboot. I rebooted again and went straight into Window. Good Job. On the other question regarding the CPU showing at 333. Is this the correct setting to achieve the full FSB for the processor?

Re: PC 8500 Recognized as 800MHZ

No it's 333 with a multiplier of 7.5, CPU and Ram FSB do not match like a AMD set up.
