Computer Restarts Randomly.

Hi,

I have had a big problem with my computer recently. This system is about 2 months old and was custom built by Cyber Power Systems. I managed to play games and use it normally for a long time before all of a sudden about a few weeks ago ago it started displaying "No Signal Input". They company replaced the GFX card after deciding it was that yet it still would not work. Then last Thursday they took it in for repair. They said they left it on, reinstalled the OS and did benchmark test yet they could not find anything wrong. So it came back on Friday and within about 2 hours of usage the computer restarted. I thought i may have hit the power button so ignored it. Then the next day it did it again, but about 3 times that day and when it restarted it gave me the "No Signal Input" message and I left it for about 20mins before turning it back on again. Today it is restarting within about 5/10 minutes of usage, even just browsing the internet. Is it a PSU porblem causing the restarts? And is that related to the "No Signal Input" problem or is that an entirely different case?

Specs:

CPU: Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz
GFX: Radeon HD4850 1GB
RAM: Corsair XSM2 4GB (2x2GB)
MOBO: Asus P5QL Pro
PSU: Enermax Pro 82+ 625W
OS: Windows XP Home Edition 32-Bit
FAN: Asus Silent Knight II

Re: Computer Restarts Randomly.

Normally that message comes from either a monitor not being set up correctly, or a hardware problem, up to and including a bad motherboard. Since it is new, I would yet again take it back and make them troubleshoot it since it is happening more often. Might be a wise idea if it is restarting within ten minutes to be there when they test it so make sure they see what happens.

Re: Computer Restarts Randomly.

If the power supply is putting out what it advertises (some don't), then a 620 (while small for this card) should have enough power to run the card without difficulty. The bare minimum would be a good brand name 600 watt power supply, but I would feel more comfortable with a 700 watt in this rig.
