Re: need help problems with new built
Can't tell if it's your only problem but your power supply needs to be up here> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004
You do not need 650w on your current setup but I included it because of the price difference only. |

Re: need help problems with new built
1.Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2.Click the Advanced tab. 3.Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box. 4.Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times. 5.Restart your computer for the settings to take effect Doing this will/should stop the restarts and give you a Blue Screen with error codes. Post the error codes.

Re: need help problems with new built
1) Remove EVERYTHING from the case
2) Set the motherboard on a non conductive surface. The motherboard box is perfect for this. DO NOT PLACE THE MOTHERBOARD ON THE STATIC BAG! It can actually conduct electricity! We are going to try and assemble a running system outside of the case. 3) Install the CPU and heat sink. 4) Install 1 stick of RAM. 5) Install the video card and attach the power supply connection(s) to the card if your card needs it. 6) Connect the monitor to the video card. 7) Connect the power supply to the motherboard with both the 24pin main ATX Power connection and the separate 4 or 8 pin power connection. 8) Connect power to the power supply. 9) Do NOT connect ANYTHING else. Make sure you have the power connector on the CPU fan connected. 10) Use a small screwdriver to momentarily short the power switch connector on the motherboard. Consult your motherboard manual to find which two pins connect to your case's power switch. Then touch both pins with a screwdriver to complete the circuit and boot the system.

Re: need help problems with new built
You should also be able to disable the automatic restart through the advanced startup options by hitting F8 prior to Windows booting. It is one of the options towards the bottom.

I checked the ram, reseat it, still continue to get short beeps that continue and stop for a second and then restarts. also the cpu fan shuts off then power supply and the system fan shuts off and retarts again and again.
now after 10 beeps the cpu fan shuts down and then the sys and power supp fan shut down and restarts. Then there are continious short beeps then stops for a second and then restarts again and again. I did search and it said cmos shutdown I don't know what that means. Last edited by dai; 06-04-2009 at 11:33 AM. |

If the CPU heat sink is tight to the CPU, Pull the board out and do the bench test to make sure it is not shorted to the case.> How to Bench Test Your System

Re: need help problems with new built
I finally managed to get xp installed and it took 3 hours. I was able to install xp with one stick of 2gb on slot 2 and nothing in slot 1, with quick install, then I put the other 2gb stick in slot 3 leaving slot 1 empty, and it took 3 hours. But now I am getting the BSOD and the message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and Bad_Pool_caller message. I did goog and found that most people had trouble with either ram or cpu heat. Please give me some feedback on what you think the problem could be.

Re: need help problems with new built
you need to look in your manual for which slots the ram goes in
for matching ram it usually goes in slots 1 and 3 for different ram it is usually slots 1 and 2 it's best to buy matching pairs
