problems due to PSU?
I played a game that I have played very often, without any problems. It's an old game and it should run without any problems.
Recently, after about 30 minutes playing, the game would all of a sudden run extremely slowly. Is it possible that it is caused by a PSU problem? It may be due to other hardware, but I want to know if PSU problems can cause this (maybe indirectly)? |

Re: problems due to PSU?
Yes, but the videocard was replaced by a weaker one.
I can't check the pc.. either hardware or run any software.. The PSU is Antec 450 Watt, which came with a Sonata II case. But I don't need to know what hardware parts could cause the problem, but if it's possible that a PSU can cause this. Last edited by okeee; 05-30-2009 at 10:26 AM. |

Re: problems due to PSU?
Yes, sure can and I have had the Antec power supplies in the Sonata II cases tank on me when almost new. If this were my rig, I would see if you can borrow another supply to try in there.

Re: problems due to PSU?
Same thoughts as Tumbleweed36. The 450W Antecs that were included with the cases are prone to early failure. All that I have seen just quit with no warning.
If it's still under Warranty, Antec will replace it with the better units.
