Acer Aspire T620 Won't start!!

Hi
I'm not entirely sure if this is to do with the power supply or the motherboard but whenever i turn on the machine the fans wont spin but i have the 2 lights on constant which are the power and the hard drive lights. I have tried with just one memory stick slotted in and still no luck. When i turn the machine on the fans twitch then stop straight away nothing at all the hard drive wont spin up or the DVD drive wont open. Nothing is displayed on the monitor. Please help me as it was working 5mins before all this happened.

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

Try this: unplug the power cord from the laptop and turn on the laptop.
just running off the battery?

What happens now?

Hi thanks for replying so quickly. I'm afraid to say its not a laptop but a desktop. Sorry.

Sounds like the psu to me.

Do you have another to try in it? maybe a friend?

What is your psu? brand and wattage?

230W the brand it was the one that came with the aspire i dont have a clue

See if you can borrow a 300 watt psu min. that works to try in the pc first.
