2x4gig PC6400???
Okay, so my current mobo (Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2) only has two DIMM slots. I'd really like to go to 8 gigs, but I can't find any desktop ram @ 2x4gigs. Does it exist? Links?
*Edit: Can I run PC8500 @ 800mhz? If so, recommendations? Last edited by Barrett24; 05-29-2009 at 05:00 PM. |

Hello and Welcome to TSF,
Check this out here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...on=pc6400+ddr2 After putting the ram, you will need to enter bios and make sure the latancy is being read correctly.

Re: 2x4gig PC6400???
You would not see any benefit using 8GB of RAM.
Basically the same with the PC8500. You "might see some benefit from the 8500 if you are heavily OC'ing.
