Exclamation Installing new ram/rebuild, fried motherboard?

Hey.
Today i was rebuilding my system, so i thought while buying my new hard drive, id also upgrade my ram.

My board is a
Gigabyte ga-945p-ds3 running windows vista. I had 2 sticks of 667mhz 1gig kingston ram in, which since i had upgraded to vista just seemed not be be enough anymore.

I so i bought a new sata 1.5tb seagate drive and 2x kingston 800mhz ddr2 1gig (hyperx)

I decided to do a clean install with no other hard drives connected and would copy my data later. Installed windows, downloaded a few updates. Everything fine, so i tested my ram. First only the 2 new sticks in, booted, everything fine, 2 new sticks with one of my old rams, fine, but as soon as i added the final stick my computer didnt start.

Im worried that the motherboard is now dead, even after i had made sure that the memory would be underclocked to 667mhz the same as the others.

Ive tried removing the cmos battery, removing all the ram. I cant get into the bios or hear any beeping noises when i start it now.
All fans, lights work fine, and my harddrive makes booting sounds.

Have I killed it?? =(

Specs.
gigabyte ga-945p-ds3
Dual 2.6ghz intel cpu
geforce 6800gts
2x 667mhz 1gig ddr2 kingston ram
2x 800mhz 1 gig ddr2 kingston ram (hyperx)
Widetech 530W powersupply (ATX530W)
Windows Vista Ultimate.

Re: Installing new ram/rebuild, fried motherboard?

Did you try clearing the CMOS and using 1 stick of ram only?

If you have a motherboard speaker or case speaker hooked to the MB it should have beeped continously with now ram providing the PSU and the CPU are good.

HyperX RAM is known for causing issues. Filling all Four of your RAM slots can cause problems also, especially with a low quality PSU.

Re: Installing new ram/rebuild, fried motherboard?

You cannot control the clocking of ram once you have mixed ram together either,
the motherboard will choose the lowest speed which in your case is 667MHz.

Try this:

Unplug the power cord
Unplug the power connector to motherboard
remove battery
remove all ram
clear cmos by using the jumper on the board
Wait 10 min and connect everything back up

Exception: only put 2 identical sticks back in first 2 slots
Boot into bios and go to optimize setting, save and exit, wait till it says update succeeded after post page before rebooting to go back into bios to configure it.

Note: This could result in having to do a reinstallation of windows. (rare)
