Flash, broken, oops.
Basically I was messing about with my tower, and not realising the power was on (very stupid of me, I will be more careful in future) flicked a red switch labelled 230v/115v. Saw a blue flash, leapt backwards and then cautiously pressed the On button... Nothing.
It just won't turn on Feel like such an idiot. Have I completely bust it or is there hope? Can I fix it?Thankyou in advance. Also sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure which subforum to put it in. |

Re: Flash, broken, oops.
Welcome
You probably blew the supply and hopefully not the board. Give us your specs so we can recommend a power supply.

Re: Flash, broken, oops.
Hi,
Which specs do you mean? I got the computer given to me and it has no harddrive at present so I haven't had it operational (and thus don't know the RAM etc )I've copied down what's written on the tower incase that is of any use: Collossus Model: 362-50-141 AC INPUT 115V~/230~,10/SA 60/50Hz 1.15KW/1.15KW Thankyou for your reply

Re: Flash, broken, oops.
I believe Collosus is the Model and not the brand.
PC Specs= Brand and model number of a prebuilt PC. Custom built*Brand and model of Mobo-CPU-RAM-Graphics-PSU.

Re: Flash, broken, oops.
Hi,
I'm pretty sure it's prebuilt but can't find the brand on it anywhere. The label on the current PSU says: Switching Power Supply ATX 300W Designed for Pentium 4 Could I just get another one of these? |

Re: Flash, broken, oops.
No, you should not get another one of those.
It should have a brand name and some specs but 300W is pretty weak for any system. Posting the other hardware specs will help us effectively determine what size PSU you need.
