Exclamation RAM installation problems

What happens if you accidentally install DDRII SDRAM with a DDR SDRAM? After taking back out the DDRII SDRAM, the computer will not boot at all. This is a Dell Inspirion 3000. When plugging the power cord back in, it immediately tries to power up. The left front panel light turns orange instead of green and you can hear the fan operating. The CD and DVD lights flicker on as usual. To turn off you have to hold the power button in for several seconds. Is the board or the CPU fried? Please help!!!

Re: RAM installation problems

DDR2 will not fit into a DDR slot. Check the RAM slot terminals for damage. Will the PC boot if you use one stick of DDR in another slot?
