Single-Channel vs. Dual-Channel?

I rebuild my PC back in November and got a pair of 2GB Kingston sticks. Initially I put them in Single-Channel (one in a yellow slot, and the other in a black slot), not being sure about how to put them in Dual-Channel.

Just today, I realized the mistake I've done and put both of them in the same coloured slots (yellow).

Now, since I was running them in Single-Channel for 7 months, and just now put them in Dual-Channel, will I notice a boost in performance?

Thanks.

Re: Single-Channel vs. Dual-Channel?

Best way to tell is by simply rebooting and see if you notice performance gain in startup/shutdown times.

You should be your best help here with knowing if you will see performance gain or not.

Re: Single-Channel vs. Dual-Channel?

Hey thanks for the link.

I know google really helps. But I can't get a good explanation about some stuff sometimes. The link you gave is really helpful, I understand it now.

Thanks again.
