Computer not recognizing RAM after OS reinstall

Hello...This is my first post so direct me if I should post this somewhere else.

M computer has 3GB of DDR2 memory installed. A couple of months ago my laptop's hard drive failed. It was still under warranty with Acer so I sent it in and they gave me a new one. I had to use my system recovery discs to reinstall the OS (Windows Vista 32-bit). After re-installing the computer is now only recognizing 2 out of those 3GB. Before the HD failure the computer was recognising all 3GB.

It would be great if somebody could assist me because I have noticed that the computer is a bit slower now.

Thanks in advance,
Kyle

EDIT: My computer is an Acer Aspire 6920 notebook computer with a 250GB HD, 1.83 GHz processor.

Re: Computer not recognizing RAM after OS reinstall

Did you send in the whole laptop or just the hard drive?
Is the ram seen in the Bios at boot?
Try removing and reseating the ram modules.
