I am kind of having the same problem. When it first occurred the computer (Emachine t2682)was on overnight and when I woke up it would not come out of what seemed to be sleeping mode. So I tried to turn it off using the power button and it didn't work. I turned it off by unplugging the cord from the back of the computer. I plugged it back in and it automatically turned on but no display...keyboard worked. I researched and thought it was my power supply. I have a dell 2350 with the same power supply so I switch both of them out. The one from the Emachine worked fine in my dell. When I the dell one in my emachine the power button worked and I thought it solved the problem but didn't. Again no display and the cpu light blinks forever. Also the num lock light on the keyboard began to blink as well. So i switched everything back. Now it is doing the same thing over again but now I realize that sometimes when it starts (automatically from me unplugging and plugging the cord) the cpu fan sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I am confused whether it may be my motherboard, the cpu, the cpu fan, or is it still the power supply?????? PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Monitor will not display anything.

Re: Monitor will not display anything.
i have taken the hard drive, the cd drives and memory out. I have also replaced the cmos battery. I searched online and the replacement PSUs were the dell and the emachine were exactly the same. They share the same PSU specs- thats why I tried it. And the video card is on board. Oh the dell psu was not proprietary it is belstic or something of that nature- as dell replaced the psu about 2 years ago through warranty.
