Need help choosing new RAM

I recently bought some new RAM for my PC, but it turned out to be incompatible, as i got blue screens and random restarts. The RAM i bought was this Kingston 2x 2GB, PC2 - 8500 MHz.

Can someone tell me what information i will need to give you about my current PC (Like current RAM), and how i can find the information, so you can point me towards some good RAM.

If possible from http://www.novatech.com

Thanks

My System

Re: Need help choosing new RAM

If it's an oem built machine, the make and model number.
Custom built, the motherboard make and model.
Then put that info into a ram manufacturer's configurator.
Get the part numbers that are guaranteed compatable, and find
that exact ram at your favourite shopping location.

here's a few.

Crucial - http://www.crucial.com/ they also have a "scan my system" option.

Corsair - http://www.corsair.com/configurator/default.aspx

Patriot - http://www.patriotmem.com/configurator/index.jsp
