Computer won't start
I have a desktop that broke last year. I took it to a shop to get fixed and the guy told me it was the motherboard. He couldn't find a motherboard and wouldn't deal with ebay. So I bought a laptop instead. When I picked my desktop up from his shop, the CPU, graphics card, and RAM were detached from the motherboard. Now I'm trying fix this desktop. I bought a new motherboard on ebay. I put everything back together turned it on and it started to boot and Windows started to load.Something it wouldn't do before. Then it stopped. I turned it on again and the only thing that happened was the fans started slowly and the HDD light in front started blinking. I was told it might be the power supply. So I put another used PSU in and only the cooling fans turned on. So I bought a new PSU on newegg. Put it in and nothing happened. I read some reviews about this PSU and people said that some were DOA. I sent it back, requested a replacement and same thing happened again. I put this new PSU in a old non working computer to see what would happen. The light on the motherboard came on. What does this mean. Do I have bad luck with PSU's or is it something else?
