[SOLVED] Power Supply upgrade
I'm looking at a refurbished HP on Tiger Direct, and I am concerned about the power supply.
Specs: HP Pavilion a6637c Intel Dual Core E5200, 2.5GHz 5GB RAM 640GB Hard Drive DVD drive Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit Also, I will be upgrading to a graphics card I also found on Tiger Direct: XFX GeForce 9600 GSO Video Card, 768MB DDR2, PCI Express 2.0 Will a 400-watt power supply upgrade be sufficient? |

I would want a Good quality 550w to power it correctly for a long time> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004
Watch the warranties on the refurb products they are not always the same. |

@connor-53,
Computer: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...sku=M975-10051 Graphics Card: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=P450-9616 And next time, being a little more polite would be nice. I'm asking a simple question. Frankly, I didn't see the need in supplying links because I felt I supplied all relevant information. @wrench97, thanks. |

Re: Power Supply upgrade
Would you recommend any of these? (I'm trying to keep my shopping list to Tiger Direct so I'm not seeing charges all over the place, and I'm trying to keep prices low. And these are all the 5 star rated):

Re: Power Supply upgrade
The DiabloTek is a definite no, The BFG is a little short on mov protection and the OC protection while it has some is not as good as it should be, it's also dual 12v rails (15 Amp & 18Amp) while the Corsair is single(41Amp) which gives you all the power available from the rail with multi rail supplies you can have unused capacity on 1 rail and be short of capacity on other(s).
