Memory upgrade Packard Bell MV35-V-007

I have recently bought and installed a 2Gb RAM module which is running alongside a 512mb module. I have also tried running the 2Gb module with a 1Gb module. The laptop runs fine in both cases but when I check the RAM in system info it is always 1.93Gb.

Does anyone know if the Packard Bell MV35-V-007 will only take up to 2Gb of RAM or is there a setting (in the bios maybe) to set the maximum?

I have tried swopping the modules but it still only shows the 2gb module in use. Unfortunatly the Packard Bell forum is not available so I can't get any help there.
It looks like I will have to settle for 2Gb.
If you have any other suggestions I would be glad to receive them, otherwise thanks for your speedy reply.
